The Downtown Aquarium Guide how a weekday morning actually feels inside

FAQ

The questions I got at the rail

Updated 5 October 2026

Is this the official website?
No. This is an independent planning guide, not affiliated with any aquarium or its operator.
Do you sell tickets?
No — we explain how admission works; tickets are handled by the operator. There is no checkout on this site.
What if I came from an advertisement?
You are still on an independent guide. Same rules apply. An ad is not a ticket window. The Privacy Policy does not change.
How long should we stay?
Most families I walked were done in ninety minutes. Sit through a keeper talk and add twenty. Photographers and very small children take two hours. There is no forced exit time.
Is it all right for kids?
Yes. The touch pool is the room they remember. Strollers work. The tunnel bypass is for wheels and for anyone who hates a moving floor. Under-threes are usually free at the operator’s door; confirm with them, not with me.
What is the tunnel actually like?
A long acrylic tube, a moving walkway, sharks and rays and turtles overhead. You can step off the belt. On a quiet weekday it is the best room in downtown Toronto. On a busy Saturday it is a shuffle.
Saturday?
12:00 to 14:00 is a crush. Opening or a late weekday is kinder.
Parking?
There is no lot that belongs to the aquarium. Subway to Union, or a shuttle from a distant parkade. Hunting on Bremner on a Saturday is a mood I would not wish on a visitor.
Food inside?
A small café near the end. Fine, not memorable. Eat before or after if you can choose.
Can you move our admission window?
No. I have no terminal. Write to the operator. Mail here is for the guide.
